Express Entry Programs

Three federal programs are managed through Express Entry. Each has its own eligibility criteria.

FSW

Federal Skilled Worker (FSW)

For skilled professionals with foreign work experience.

  • At least 1 year of skilled work experience (TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3)
  • Language level CLB 7 minimum (French or English)
  • Minimum high school education (ECA required)
  • Minimum score of 67/100 on FSW grid

Ideal for: Professionals with foreign experience

CEC

Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

For those who have already worked in Canada.

  • At least 1 year of Canadian work experience (last 3 years)
  • Skilled employment (TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3)
  • CLB 7 for TEER 0/1, CLB 5 for TEER 2/3
  • No formal education requirement

Ideal for: Workers or graduates in Canada

FSTP

Federal Skilled Trades (FSTP)

For qualified tradespeople.

  • At least 2 years experience in a skilled trade
  • Job offer or Canadian qualification certificate
  • CLB 5 for speaking, CLB 4 for writing
  • Trade in groups 72, 73, 82, 92, or certain 632, 633

Ideal for: Electricians, plumbers, welders, etc.

The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores your profile out of 1,200 points. Higher scores receive Invitations to Apply (ITA) first.
