Former Home Child Care Provider Pilot
Former program closed to new applications since June 17, 2024. It should not be confused with the new Home Care Worker Immigration Pilot, whose streams are currently closed.
Who is this program for
Qualified individuals to provide child care in a private residence. Candidates can be abroad or already in Canada with valid status.
Main criteria
Process steps
1. Find a job offer
Get a valid job offer from a Canadian family for home child care.
2. Apply for work permit
Submit an employer-specific work permit application. The employer does not need an LMIA.
3. Former step: gain the required experience
This step described the former closed program and must not be used to determine eligibility for the current pilots.
4. Apply for permanent residence
New applications are no longer accepted under this former program.
