PEQ 2026: How Many Applications Have Been Received and Is the Cap Reached?

As of August 10, 2026, Quebec has not published an official number of Quebec Experience Program (PEQ) applications received since the program reopened. It is therefore not possible to state that a specific number of files has been reached.

Is there an application cap for the PEQ in 2026?

No. MIFI’s published intake rules say there is no maximum number of applications accepted from July 2 to October 31, 2026. This is not a quota that fills up daily: an application can be received during this window if it meets the intake criteria and program conditions.

Why is there no public counter?

Quebec said it will use the volume received during this first period to plan subsequent PEQ intake periods and adjust PSTQ invitations. It announced no cap, but did not publish a daily or cumulative dashboard. A number shared without an official source should not be described as a MIFI total.

Who can have an application received now?

The temporary reopening covers the Quebec Graduates and Temporary Foreign Workers streams. For this first period, the qualifying Quebec diploma or two years of eligible TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3 work experience must have been obtained by November 19, 2025. All other selection conditions still apply.

What to remember before October 31

• Do not delay a complete file because you believe a cap was reached: MIFI has not set one for this period.
• No cap does not mean automatic approval: eligibility, evidence and forms remain essential.
• Submit through Arrima using the current PEQ forms and monitor MIFI updates.
• A later intake period may be announced after the volume is assessed; it is not guaranteed and may differ from the first.
